5 months old!!

Our sweet baby is 5 months old today. How is this possible?
Five months ago we welcomed the sweetest, tiniest little fella into our family. Our lives will never be the same.
What are you up to at 5 months?

First let me say, you are the sweetest boy Cameron. Your smile and laugh are such sweet music to mama and daddy's hearts. You really are becoming a pretty content little fella until you are tired. We are praying that you will learn SOON that sleep is your friend and not your enemy.

You are still nursing every 3 hours during the day. You have slept through the night a few times so we know you can do it, but you would much rather have a midnight snack.

You love, love, love your bath time. You kick and splash in a very determined manner. Pure joy.

You love playing in your bouncer. You look like you are dancing to river dance music.

Your favorite toy right now is your hands. They are always in your mouth and you like to put our hands in your mouth too. A burp cloth keeps your pretty entertained as well. Anything you can get to that mouth makes you happy. No teeth yet, but I think you are working on them.

You seem to learn a new trick everyday.

Daddy has really been working with you on your sitting. You can sit on your own for a few seconds. You are getting stronger everyday.

You have learned to stick your tongue out. It's really funny.

You found your feet and really like playing with them. They haven't made it to your mouth yet, but I'm sure they will soon.

You also like to blow raspberries or bubbles.

I still believe your favorite thing to do is kick your legs and now you like to wave your arms like a bird. You are starting to show your excitement by kicking and waving.
You went swimming for the first time this month with daddy. You were a good sport, but I think you prefer your bath!

We tried Oatmeal this week and you were not a fan. You were much more interested in eating your new Cars bib!

You started daycare last week (8-15-11). I think you did better than I did. It breaks my heart to leave you but I am so thankful for the 5 months we were able to stay at home together.

Your biggest struggle right now is sleeping outside of someone's arms. When I picked you up from daycare on Thursday you had not slept AT ALL. How is this possible for a 5 month old? We promise you won't miss anything if you sleep.

You are such a cute little boy. You have daddy's pretty blue eyes and mom's porcelain (pale) skin. We think you are a perfect combination of both of us. You are loosing your hair which makes for a funny comb over, but you are starting to grow some of it back. You have some thunder thighs and have grown SOO much. We like to call you our chunky monkey.

Cameron you are the joy of our heart. We pray the Lord's protection and guidance on you everyday.
We love you sweet boy!

21 weeks

Cameron was born 21 weeks ago yesterday. Time has really flown by, as he will be 5 months old next Monday. The summer is over; classes start today for both Amy and myself and Cameron started daycare on Monday. We took a trip to Hattiesburg last weekend to see family and friends and below are some pictures. Amy will be back with a 5 month blog post next week.

Pure Joy

Cameron is developing such as SWEET personality. He smiles, talks and laughs all the time. He really is only fussy if he is tired or hungry. We have come a long way from his early days. Adam captured some of this joyful laughter the other night on video. If this doesn't make your heart smile, I don't know what would.

The Growth of Cameron Charles Knight

4 months old, 16 pounds, 24 inches
2 months old, 11 pounds, 4 oz., 22 inches
3 days old, 4 pounds, 10 oz., 18 inches

Cameron is 18 weeks old today. Yesterday, we went to the doctor for his 4 month check-up. Cameron weighed in at just over 16 pounds and measured 24 inches long. This is pretty remarkable considering when he was born, he weighed just under 5 pounds and was 18 inches long. He has been a growth spurt since the day he was born and shows no signs of stopping (in large part due to Amy). The pictures above demonstrate just how much he has grown. He is a perfectly healthy baby who loves to laugh and play. As you can see in the photo below, he has exceptional neck strength. He loves play on his tummy and roll over and he loves to mess with his daddy. I think I commented on Saturday that he hasn't been rolling over as much lately. Well, on Sunday, he rolled over 10 times in about a 5 minute period!

4 Months Old

Our sweet boy is four months old today!!! I am in awe of this. Time has flown and creeped all at the same time. C has changed so much this month. Each day is a new fun adventure. We will go to the doctor on Monday, so I will have to report back with his stats, but our rough estimates (unofficial weight) has him weighing in over 15 lbs. That's triple the sweet boy's birth weight.

At 4 months...

Cameron you are SOO much fun. Mommy and Daddy have so much fun playing with and loving on you everyday.

You have such a sweet, sweet smile. You have really started laughing more these past few weeks. It is such sweet music to our ears.

You love playing with your hands and really love chewing on them, sometimes to the point of choking yourself. You put everything in your mouth. Toys, burp cloths, bibs, momma's hands. I think you are starting to teethe because you are gnawing on everything and drooling more.

You do VERY well with tummy time and make rolling over look like a piece of cake now (from stomach to back). You have always had really good head control and it just keeps getting better. You are a very observant little fella, always looking around.

You still don't care much for traveling or should I say having to ride in your car seat. This doesn't make our car trips very fun since you do not like to sleep in the car apparently unlike every other baby in the world. I think you don't want to miss anything.

You are sleeping all night in your bed usually from 8:30/9:30 - 6:30/7:30. Some nights (last night) you only got up once at 4:30. This was such a treat for mommy and daddy, but the nights before we were up every two hours. Mommy can't figure out what is different on those nights you sleep well. We have come a long way in the sleep department. I am learning that you need all of your naps everyday or you don't do as well. You are falling asleep a lot easier but still refuse to nap outside of someone's arms. We have tried everything to change this but you are stubborn (you get it honest).

You have really found your toys this month. You love to wear your kicking shoes (that rattle) and play with Carla the singing Caterpillar. Grandma and Poppa sent a fun popper toy that you love to watch. You have played some in your bouncy contraption and thinks its fun. Your most favorite thing to do when playing is kick your legs. Boy can you kick. You are learning to turn your leg to kick mommy and daddy if we are to the side of you. When we lay you on your changing table you practically squeal with delight and kick SOO hard and fast! You are such a sweet boy.

We had your baby dedication this month. You slept through it. Ha!! This was a special time where mommy and daddy dedicated to teach you about God's word and promised to raise you with his guidance. Both sets of grandparents came for this special day and your special adopted grandparents the O'Bannons were with us too.

You love for mommy and daddy to sing to you and will sing back with us or smile with delight. You are a delight to everyone!!

Daddy likes to say you are mommy's little boy and daddy's best friend. We love you so much sweet boy. We pray daily that the Lord would help you grow and learn. We want you to grow to follow after Him and love as you have been loved.

16 weeks

Cameron is now 16 weeks and 2 days old. It is hard to believe. He just keeps on growing, and growing, and growing. The first picture is from Tuesday, and the second is from around his one week birthday. He is now as big as the bear. It is hard to believe how fast he has grown. As you can see below, he has not missed any meals!!

Happy Independence Day and Cameron's 15 week birthday.

I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July holiday. It is fun to share these times with Cameron and explain to him the meaning of this day, even though I am not sure he was really paying attention to me. We had a good time cooking out and Cameron was very patriotic looking thanks to his G-ma!! He will also be 15 weeks old tomorrow, and he is such a fun boy to play with. He really interacts well with us, his toys, and he loves to kick. He has also started to roll over almost anytime he is placed on his stomach. He is growing up so fast!! Enjoy the pictures.
