F is for fun memories

F is for fun memories

As I have been cleaning off my computer I ran across some fun pictures that delighted my heart. I think the Lord calls us to laughter and joy and to remember and reflect on times of growth. In this case I am amazed at how quickly little man has grown up right before our eyes. Adam and I are looking so forward to being close to Jackson and of course his parents (just kidding Jeremy and Amy).
This is a picture of Jackson when he got all dolled up for his aunt Kellyn and uncle Jason's wedding. Gigi and I were his dates in the nursery that date waiting for his grand entrance during the pictures> Fun Fact: They got married during the Alabama/Auburn game which happened to be the weekend that Adam and I really started "talking" on the phone. I specifically remember telling mom coming home from that trip, "there's something different about this guy". She said while I was napping on the way home I had a smile on my face. :) I think I still have that smile.

Now back to the other man in my life. This was taken of Jackson almost a month ago now. Boy has he changed. Thankfully he is no longer bald, not offense to you bald beauties (shout out to my father in law!!) If we were only like children and gained hair instead of lost it!! I miss little man. But I just got word that he will be coming to Auburn this weekend while we are there to see where his Mimi and Uncle Adam will be living. He needs to check out his room. I am so excited. Have a great day and I hope that you will reflect back on some fun memories yourself!!

E is for exciting events

E is for exciting events

22 days and counting. We are so excited for the days ahead. Adam and I spent Wednesday accomplishing a long list of "wedding" things! We are a great team! We are down to the little things now, like buying bubbles, getting rings sized and engraved, programs, and all of those little details you are afraid of forgetting.

Today we applied for our marriage license! It is so exciting to see our names printed out so formally and know that this information will be in legal records for our grandkids to look up years later. I am SO excited about becoming Mrs. Adam Knight!

One of my greatest prayers in the days ahead is that we are able to glorify the Father in our words, actions and attitudes. "Not to us Oh Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory because of Your love and faithfulness." God has been so faithful to Adam and I each day, each step of this journey. We are so excited about whats next!! To God be the glory!!!

D is for Dog tired

D is for dog tired
Have you ever been so tired that it hurts to blink? I think I am there. I just returned on Monday from a retreat with 40 college students. Now this retreat came on the heels of the end of the semester so my body, mind and soul was already worn out. Couple this with driving 3 hours to a retreat and back along with 40 wonderfully active college students = DOG TIRED. Have you ever just wanted to sleep, sleep, and then absolutely sleep some more. Thats where I am at right now. Apparently not sleeping right now because I am typing, but I am tired. Here are some pics of the students that contributed to this dog tired feeling. Love them wouldn't trade them in for new ones, but they got to sleep in the van on the way home!!!!

C is for Chase, Call, & Catch Tanner

C is for Chase, Call , & Catch Tanner

If you are avid blog reader of mine you have heard me talk about Tanner, my parents lovable yet hyper dachshund. Well this little fellow can make your day. He is a cuddle bug. Since I have been staying at mom and dad's until the wedding I have enjoyed having Tanner wake me up in the morning with he wet kisses. Well Tanner is getting a little bit more adventurous. He is not an outside dog or at least my parents have never allowed him to be, but he will slip out the door and take off sometimes before we can reach down to catch him. And thats what happened last night. My mom was opening the door for my brother, when out Tanner went, into the dark night. I think he was going to look for badgers ( just in case you didn't know dachshunds are breed for that). We had no idea what direction he headed, so mom, dad, Ben, Adam and myself got flashlights and went looking for him. The little rascal. He knew we were looking silly wandering around, but all he cared about was he was free for a change. Adam and I looked in the edge of the woods. Thanks sweetheart for humoring me on thinking I heard him there. About 10 minutes later, my dad walks back up with him in his arms. Freedom was his no more. Silly dog. But he is so darn cute.

B is for Birthdays

B is for Birthdays

May is a special month full of lots of birthdays to celebrate.

First my wonderful sister-n-law to be Lori celebrated her birthday on May 3rd. I am thrilled to have Lori for a sister-n-law. Happy Birthday Lo. This picture below
is of Lori, Lisa (my other wonderful sister-n-law) and myself on a Cruise this past summer.

The next birthday to celebrate is my fun friend Heather.
Heather celebrated her birthday on Monday, May 5th, Cinco de Mayo, Ole' Here is a picture of Heather and I at a shower she and Brandi and Sunny hosted for me.

Next is my wonderful, wonderful friend Karen formerly Walker now Robinson. Did you get that. Karen Walker Robinson. Karen's birthday is today, May 7th. For the past few years, I have managed to miss her birthday due to crazy circumstances or just my craziness. One year I had a wreck on her birthday, one year a concussion, one year I just absolutely forget, even talked with her on her birthday but still forgot. I DID NOT FORGET this year. I even asked Adam to go by and see her yesterday before he left Auburn YESTERDAY to wish her an early birthday. I am so excited about living in the same city as this special friend especially because Karen and Brian are expecting a little one (a precious girl) in October. YAY. Here is a picture of Karen and I taken at my apartment last fall.

The next birthday to celebrate is someone who is practically family- see if you can follow- Lisa's (sister-n-law from above) wonderful boyfriend Patrick!!! Yep that's him in the picture below with Lisa. He's also a Luckyday scholar so I have taught him, worked with him and love him like a brother. Can't wait until he is family. Happy Birthday Patrick!!!

Another birthday this month is my extremely faithful prayer partner Ginger. Ginger celebrates her birthday on May 10th. I don't have a picture to share of Ginger but she has always been a faithful friend, encourager, and prayer warrior. Love you friend.

May 17th is Kris's birthday. Kris is my best friend from high school. I might have to add in a picture later from our old high school days... the days when Kris and I were obsessed with weddings and pretty much boys. Now she is a wonderful mom and teacher and I am ready to get past the wedding and be a wife.

I think that catches me up! Happy Birthday to you all!! Thanks for your wonderful place in my life!

One last thing.... today is ONE MONTH from our wedding!!! WAHOO!!!!!

A is for Adam

In my blog stalking I have seen the alphabet game being played so I thought it would be fun to start playing it too!!!
A is for Adam

Adam is a great topic to start the alphabet game with. The Lord indeed has created an amazingly kind, patient, smart, handsome, strong, caring man in Adam. My heart delights in knowing that I get to spend the rest of my life with him!!! Can you see the smile on my face!!!??? Not only is Adam the most handsome man that I know he is also the smartest. Today he is starting his written comps for his PhD. This process will take 2 days. Let me put the amount of work he has endured into perspective for you. On Tuesday he presented at a conference in Birmingham, Wednesday he took a final exam in Auburn and Thursday and Friday he will write for approximately 8 hours on his written comprehensives and then work on the take home portion this weekend. He is one hard working man. But despite all of this hard work he still makes me laugh, smile and feel like the most loved woman in the world. I am blessed beyond measure. My sweet Adam.
