My wonderful dad!

I think I left you hanging (yeah right) on that last post longing for more information about our sweet little Albe. He is still on confinement and has actually calmed down a bit. Keep thinking about him he has one more treatment to go and about 1 1/2 months of no running and playing. Poor fella.

But since then our focus has been turned a bit.

If you know me at all you know that I am a daddy's girl. Growing up the only girl it has always been clear that I was his favorite (daughter) and I LOVE it. Dad and I talk everyday. If I haven't talked to him in 2 days he jokes that he is going through withdrawls. He was the first man to make me feel so incredibly special and I always wondered if anybody could love me as much as my daddy does. When Adam came along Dad's approval was so important. It didn't take but an instant for Dad to love Adam and know that Adam was going to take care of his "baby girl" I am so blessed to have the 2 greatest men in the world love me SOO much. Friday night Adam and were heading to supper and I was talking to dad on the phone, Dad said he sure wished he could give me a hug but said that he would have to let Adam do it. I later told him he didn't have to cause such drama just to get his hug.
Saturday rolls around and I am just in a cruddy mood. Didn't know why and knew that I better get out of the house before I took it out on my fellas. I left Adam and Albe on the couch and headed to get some flowers for the front porch. As I was pulling out of our street I called mom to vent about how I was feeling. The conversation went like this, "Hey Mom whatcha doing" Mom said "Taking your dad to the hospital. He thinks he is having a heart attack. We are going in a hurry. ME "WHAT. Is he ok?" " Well he feels like he has an elephant on his chest. He is saying go fast."
I turned the car around and walked back into my house and crumbled into my husbands arms and cried out "Dad's having a heart attack" My dad. So hard to believe. We found out minutes later that he was indeed having a heart attack and a cath confirmed a 100% blocked artery. Adam and I headed to Hattiesburg. We are so glad to be closer, but that was the longest 3 hours we have ever driven. Dad spent 2 nights in CCU and 2 nights in the hospital. I was able to stay and help keep him in place ( a full time job indeed. He is at home now, bored out of his mind having to really listen to his body for the first time in his whole life. The Lord created our bodies in a very intricate way and I am reminded by the struggles of my own that THIS body is not our own.
This week I was able to see the hands of the heavenly Father hold my earthly father and it was good to know that I trust in a mighty God. He has blessed me so immensely. My dad has much ahead but he hasn't lost his zest for life or his ridiculous and crazy sense of humor. We are blessed.

Long time no blog

I have been in a bit of a blogging funk here lately, hence the absence of my blogging. Blame it on lack of material or lack of interest in posting, either way, I know you faithful readers have been disappointment every time you checked the blog and found out that AGAIN it was Ben's birthday. Sorry. I will try to get back to semi-frequently blogging, since that's about all I gave you anyway. Our sweet pup Albe has given me plenty to blog about and he is going in on Monday for a heart worms treatment so I will give you some good stuff on him in my next post. Have a great night!

Happy Birthday Ben!

Today is one of those days when you reality sinks in. I am getting OLD. My little brother turns 23 today. Let me say that again. My LITTLE brother! Now he is far from little anymore, hasn't been for a LONG time but still in my heart he will always be my little brother.

Ben I pray that you feel loved and encouraged on this special day. I pray that this year that Lord enlarges your territory. THat you feel his hand of guidance, strength and seek his wisdom as you walk in his truth. We love you brother!

Fun Times on the "Fun Ship"

Its official Adam and I have been bitten by the cruise bug. We are lovin' us some cruising and had a WONDERFUL time with the family (that includes you John and Sam) on this cruise. IF you haven't cruised before, I will be the first to admit my skepticism before our first cruise (over 2 years ago). Now three cruises later, its the way to go. So relaxing and just a fun time together. Adam and I have already booked another one for our anniversary trip. Here is a glimpse into our trip.
This is a picture of us in Progresso. If you look very closely (click on the picture) you can see Lisa, Patrick, Lori and James on the top deck We had no idea when Samantha and John took this that they were up there. To fun!.
Dinner time was our favorite time of the night. The boys could put away some food. I was really pleased with how well I was able to eat this cruise compared to our honeymoon. I have come a long way on the yeast free diet and aren't nearly as rigid as I was 10 months ago. We had a lot of fun with our waiters and just being with the fam. Here are some pics from the GREAT trip.

Power of Prayer

We are back from our trip and I can't wait to tell you all about it... but that will have to wait. My heart is heavy as I talk to the Father on behalf of people that I don't even know. Isn't it funny how the Lord brings his children together across the miles. I have read this blog for a long time now and enjoyed learning this family, and now their little infant Stellan heart is running away from him (something I know a little about). Check out the link below, read of the faith of this mother and petition on behalf of this family.

Prayers for Stellan

"Albe my friend"

Adam, Albe and I had a great trip last weekend. Albe did great with Jackson and at Grandma and Poppa's house. We were all extremely wore out by the time we got home.
Albe in the backseat wishing that we wouldn't put him in the crate. Albe and Jackson got along really well. Jackson would say, "Albe my friend." I love this picture of Jackson and Albe watching Adam leave for Auburn. Sweetness.

Jackson LOVES his Uncle Adam. When I talked to him and told him we were coming he kept saying, "you bring Adam". They had so much fun together. WE love this little boy and are SO glad to call him our nephew.

The countdown is on. We are cruising in 5 days. Have I mentioned that we are cruising. I think I neglected that.We will be seeing this boat again in 5 days. We are SOO excited. We cruised the fantasy 2 years ago, so I might have to throw in a tribute post pre-cruise if I have time. Wouldn't that be fun Knight family!!
