Summer Fun!

Adam and I had a WONDERFUL time on our cruise. In total we were gone for about 12 days. We spent a few in Hattiesburg before the cruise, I had a Dr.'s appt in New Orleans on the Friday before we left so we stayed the night there before catching our plane to Ft. Lauderdale. We spent a day in Ft. Lauderdale which was great fun and then a day and half in Hattiesburg on the return trip. By the time we made it back to Starkvegas, we were all worn out from the vacation. Isn't that sad. Albe slept like a rock when we got home, but he had a blast with his grandparents. Thanks everybody for loving on him. I know he enjoyed being spoiled.

I will do a longer post with more cruise pictures later but as a teaser, one of the best things we did on the trip was parasailing in Key West!!! It was truly amazing. I have wanted to do this for years. It has been on my "list". I am so glad I waited to do it with my husband and did it in a beautiful place. So peaceful and relaxing.

I'm missin' my man!

Albe and I are living the single life Wednesday through Sunday. Adam has gone to a conference in San Antonio. Usually I am the one that leaves town but this time I got left behind and I must admit it stinks!!! I am missing Adam like crazy. Adam really wanted me to go with him, but I am putting on a workshop this week, so duty called and I had to stay behind.

So Albe and I are hanging out. Albe gets off of his restriction tomorrow (remember he has been on heart worm confinement for 2 months. He is SO anxious to play and take long walks). He is going to have the ball ready for Adam when he gets home.

And in other Exciting news...we are counting down to our cruise...9 days! Wahoo.

Today is not only our anniversary but it is also my wonderful mother-n-law Cindy's birthday!!! I am so blessed to have a wonderful mother-n-law who is encouraging, loving, supportive, and understands what I live with (her son :)

I hope you had a wonderful day Mrs. Cindy. We love you very much!!!

A year ago today...

A year ago today, 06-07-08 I married my best friend. What a wonderfully FULL first year it has been. The Lord has blessed us with lots of laughter, memories, growth, and even tears as we have lost those we love. But He has walked with us through this year, which we feel is the only way that a marriage will be strong.

So what's happened in our first year of marriage? So glad you asked.... This is just a very BRIEF glimpse.

Like I said this is just a glimpse. As I sit and type Adam and I are dreaming of what this next year holds and the years after that. We are so blessed by our families and friends love and support. It was indeed a Happy Anniversary!!!

Home

Today was a celebration in heaven as my sweet Mammaw was welcomed Home after spending 85 years on this earth. I cry as I write this words tears of gladness for her Home-Going, tears of sadness for our loss here on earth and tears of celebration for the amazing woman that she was and will always be to us. I always had a unique closeness with my Mammaw that was indeed God inspired. I felt as though she was my spiritual mentor. I remember staying with she and Papaw for months at a time in the summer and her faithfully going to the prayer chapel weekly, spending time in the Word and singing praises as she went about the house. Nine years ago, a stroke robbed Mammaw of her ability to talk, walk like she used to and take care of herself as she had but it didn't take her smile and the love in her eyes. And it didn't take the Love my sweet Papaw had for her. They were married 65 years. He lost his sweetheart today. He is such an example of a faithful, selfless husband, taking care of her through sickness and in health. These next days as we walk as a family through this time of grief and celebration, mourning and joy I know that we will remember that she has found rest again, she can sing again, walk again, and rejoices with the Father. We love you Mammaw!

Our life

Sorry for the long delay between posts, I just haven't been able to bring myself to post lately. It has been a stress filled month for our family and I guess I needed a blogging break. We are still grabbing and claiming the Lord's strength and faithfulness here at the Knight's house. God is good all the time!

On a happier note we did have a great visit from Adam's sister Lisa and future brother-n-law Patrick this weekend. It was a great break from things. Albe loved having them here. Patrick took these pictures of Albe. Albe had just had his second heart worms treatment the days before and is in his last month of confinement. We are looking forward to June 20th when he can play again!

Happy Birthday to YOU!

I am slacking on special birthday wishes. So sorry this is delayed sister. Sunday was my sweet sister-n-law Lori's 21st birthday. Adam keeps saying. I can't believe she is 21. This is his BABY sister. If you don't remember or didn't know, Lori was in my class (I taught her) and wrote the paper that sparked my interest in her brother. This was her freshman year of college. This week she is finishing her Jr. year and has grown into an amazing woman. We are so proud of you Lo. Keep growing in the Lord and walk in his ways. We love you! Albe does too!

This is a fun picture because it has the 2 beautiful birthday girls. Heather on the left and Lori on the right! You guessed it. The other birthday we celebrate today is Heather. Ironically, she is from Starkville and transplanted to Hattiesburg which is where we met. Now look where the good Lord has placed Adam and I. The first time Adam met Heather he unknowingly said "i don't know why anyone would want to live in Starkville. I quickly slapped him and informed him that Heather was from here. And NOW... 2 years later, WE have a Starkville address. HAAHAHA. Does anyone else see the humor.
Adam and I were driving to lunch today and I said I wanted to go to Mexico Tipico (one of Heather's fav's here in Starkville) Adam said, "You just want to go because its Cinco de Mayo and I screamed, Oh my gosh ITS HEATHER's BIRTHDAY! What a great way to remember her birthday. I just wish I could celebrate it with her. The unfortuante events that led me to Hattiesburg this past week did lead to a wonderful parking lot talk with my sweet friend Heather who I MISS, MISS, MISS like crazy. She and I would see each other everyday within the first 30 minutes of the day for nearly 2 years. And at least a few times during the day to vent or just get away from our desks. She is a jewel, a precious friend and one that I praise the Lord for. Heather I pray that you have a wonderful day and realize just has very special you are!

Well that's it for not, but have not fear, May birthday's abound and I am HORRIBLE and remembering them all. Cross my fingers I don't forget one!
