Update on Albe

Well we are in shock and awe! Just absolutely amazed. Last I wrote, Albe was giving us fits at night with his sleeping, or lack there of. So we moved him to the office and his old kennel. The first night he did GREAT!!!! Didn't hear a peep. The next night we said, "ready to go to bed." I kid you not the dog, RAN to his bed. Adam and I about died, right there in our house. What in the world! Is this our dog who was having trouble sleeping just 2 nights earlier. The next night I was laying on the bed a little before bedtime, Albe jumps off and I hear him head down the hall. Where did he go you ask? To his bed. No coaxing or anything. He loves it and has gone to it on his own every night whenever he is ready to go to bed. So this is a picture of what is his new favorite bed!Who knew that something smaller and more compact could make the fella so happy!

Well w

Doggy Days and Nights

Greetings friends. I'm writing a little more tired today than usual. You see our sweet little dog Albert (that's what he gets called when he's misbehaving) has decided that he doesn't like to sleep in his crate anymore. The past 2 nights Adam and I have have woken up in the wee hours to a faint whining coming from his kennel. And I mean WEE hours. 12:30 last night. So we take him outside first (or Adam takes him out) but that doesn't quiet him down. Adam says, just ignore him, but I fear something is wrong with him. I was forgetting this was the 2nd night that our precious slumber had been interrupted by the whines of this precious pup. So instead of watching the inside of my eyelids, I watch the clock and sit up every now and then and sternly instruct Albe to be quiet and go to sleep. It didn't work! At 2 am, I finally got up and "checked on him", meaning I opened his kennel. What do you think he wanted? To get in the bed with us of course. We have had Albert for 8 months now and he has slept great in his bed in the kennel EVERY night. So what is happening here. Any suggestions you dog lovers on how to get our pup to sleep through the night? Tonight he will be getting his own bedroom. He is getting moved out of our room. I just hope that doesn't make him whine louder.
So now I am propping my head up getting ready to teach 2 classes this afternoon as our sweet dog is sound asleep on the BED this afternoon! That stinker!

New Semester

Its a new semester and as Adam so sweetly wrote I have transitioned into a new job. The Lord worked in an amazing way opening the doors for this position and I love being back in the classroom. I am building my stamina back up and my vocal cords. Its going to be a great semester. We are claiming it!

Big Congratulations and Thank you!!

First of all, I want to start this off by congratulating Amy on her new position as an instructor in the Department of Communication. This is a wonderful job for Amy, as she is a great teacher and will have a positive influence on so many students. It's really neat that we both work at the university, but in different departments. The Lord has truly blessed us with these jobs!!

Second, I want to thank Amy for taking the trip with me to St. Louis. As she wrote yesterday, I have an obsession with the Cardinals, and she has put up with this the whole time we have been together. I told her the Cardinals won the World Series in October (2006), and then we met a month later, so I had some really good things going on in my life!! Our first Cardinals game together was two years ago in Atlanta; I got sick at the game and we had to leave early and missed the Cardinals dramatic victory. But, she went with me to watch them beat the Braves last year and to St. Louis this year, where they split the two games we went to. Albert even hit a home run on Tuesday night. We had such a wonderful time and couldn't have gotten a better hotel room if we picked it out ourselves!! I really enjoy our travels together and look forward to the future when we have children to travel with as well (I think I'm looking forward to traveling with the kids, check back in a few years for verification). Anyway, we had a great time, but now it's back to work as the Fall semester begins on Monday.

Meet me in St. Louis

Adam and I decided to take a little trip before the semester got started back. First we went to Prattville to celebrate at Jackson's 3rd Birthday party. We had a great time. He is such a smart fella and is so fun to just talk to and have a conversation with. He really delights our hearts.

From Prattville we headed to St. Louis. I don't know if I have alluded much in this blog to my husband's LOVE for the Cardinals. Let me reemphasize LOVE. He was so excited about this trip. Adam has been to St. Louis a few times but this was my first time. 9 hours from Prattville, this is what we get to see.

We are checking into to our hotel and we get an upgrade to a suite! How wonderful. We get in our room, pull back the curtains and this is the view. We took this picture from our window. We loved waking up to that and going to bed to it as well.

But you all know what we went to St. Louis for!!!!
The CARDINALS!! We were able to go to 2 games and take a tour of Busch stadium. I will share more pics soon!!!
