Early on Tuesday morning, the Lord blessed Amy and I with the most precious gift we could ever receive!! Cameron Charles Knight was born at 3:44 AM on 3/22/11. He weighed just shy of 5 pounds and was 18.25 inches long. Even though he is a smaller baby, he is definitely strong and full of life. Amy and I, though exhausted, have loved every minute we have spent with him, and can't wait to see what lies ahead with our little man. I'll post a few pictures now and we'll add more when we get home, which will hopefully be tomorrow. Amy is doing well and I can say this for sure, is one of the toughest women in the world. Check back in the next few days to hear from Amy and see more pictures.

My sweet Papaw

Today, March 16, 2011, the angels rejoiced when my wonderful Papaw, James Lee Triggs entered Heaven.
My heart grieves and rejoices.
I grieve for many reasons.
I grieve because I know Papaw will never hold Cameron.
I grieve for I can no longer call him and hear his voice.
I grieve because life just won't feel the same without him.
But I rejoice for many more reasons.
I rejoice because he is now with our Savior.
I rejoice because he is reunited with his bride of 66 years.
I rejoice because he is physically restored.
I rejoice because I know he is watching over us, hand in hand with Mamaw.
I rejoice because he is HOME!!!
So today we grieve in the death of our precious Papaw, we celebrate for the life we will meet in just a few days in Cameron. The Lord's timing is not our timing, his ways are not our ways, but we can and I am claiming his peace and hope in these days of joy and sorrow.
"There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Cameron's Nursery
I have been so pleased with how Cameron's nursery turned out. I wanted it to be a peaceful room that we would enjoy being in especially for those late night feedings. I was able to commission one of my students to paint some precious canvases to match the bedding and make a picture board for us.The pictures really don't do the room justice. We are ready and waiting for you sweetboy!!

Baby Showers
Adam and I have been so blessed by the love and generosity of our friends and family as we prepare for Cameron.
We were blessed with a shower in Hattiesburg (don't have pictures yet), one given by our Sunday School class and another by sweet friends at work.
First, our Sunday School Shower.
The table was so cute!

The sweet hostesses.

Isn't this the most precious cake and it tasted as good as it looked.

We were also blessed with a wonderful shower given by some work colleagues.
This cake is a perfect match for the nursery (pics coming soon).

The hostesses!

You would not believe how precious these cupcakes were. They were little babies. I have never seen anything so cute! Special thanks to Stacey's mother-n-law for the cake and cupcakes.

I thought I had gotten a few more pics, they really went over and beyond on the food, but I guess I was to busy eating it all to take pictures of it!!
I will post pictures from the Hattiesburg shower when I get them.
We are so blessed by everyone's love and generosity.
As you can see by the countdown, Cameron will be here VERY soon. I think we are as ready as we can be.

36 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 36 weeks (35 weeks 5 days)
Size of baby: 19 inches about 5.9 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Mostly maternity.
Gender: It’s a BOY!!!!! Cameron Charles Knight
Movement: Sweet boy moves a lot but seems to be slowing down a little. I think he is running out of room. He loves kicking/pushing down which will be good when he is ready to come out, but right now is uncomfortable.
Sleep: Not sleeping well. I think its a combination of being uncomfortable and not being able to shut my mind off. I was wide awake this morning at 4:30 am. I guess its also my bodies way of getting ready for its new hours.
Symptoms: Achy back and pelvis, braxton hicks, round ligament pain (belly is growing and it is uncomfortable), nausea has returned (thankful for Zofran),
What I miss: SLEEP.
Cravings: Powdered donuts and ice cream. Very healthy choices indeed.
Best Moment this week: ALMOST finishing the nursery. It looks so precious. (pictures to come soon).
What I am looking forward to: Finishing my crazy class schedule this week. I have been teaching 2 of my classes on the abbreviated schedule (8 weeks vs. 16 weeks). It has been tough, especially over the past week as I am getting more uncomfortable. I finish these classes up on Monday and will only have 2 classes to teach up until Spring Break (if Cameron waits that long).
Much has happened since I last posted. At 34 weeks, we had a bit of false labor (bad braxton hicks contractions) which sent us to Labor and Delivery. It was a bit surreal and humbling to know that Cameron is so close to coming into the world. We weren't ready 2 weeks ago, but have our bags packed now. Also, this pregnancy has taken a toll on my teeth. I had to have 2 teeth pulled the same week of our Labor and Delivery visit. It was not a fun experience, but thankfully I have received some relief now.
We have been very blessed with 3 baby showers over the past few weeks. Cameron is a very lucky young man. I will post pictures from the showers and of his nursery as soon as I have a chance.

32 Weeks
I can hardly believe it, I am 32 weeks along. I know I say this every week, but it really is hard to believe that we are moving along so quickly.
I know I have been terrible at posting pictures during the pregnancy. I was actually about 31 weeks 4 days in this one, but close enough.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 32 weeks
Size of baby: 19 inches about 3.9-4 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Mostly all maternity. A few of my pre-pregnancy shirts work. There is no denying that I am pregnant now! I just got another bag of maternity clothes from friends and am SO excited about checking it out. Its like Christmas.
Gender: It’s a BOY!!!!! Cameron Charles Knight
Movement: Sweet boy moves a lot. It almost feels like he is wiggling in my belly. I still feel lots of kicks but I feel somersaults too. His positioning is quite painful right now. Last night I was trying to coax him to get off of my pubic bone. My kind words and rubbing didn’t really help.
Sleep: We have SOO many pillows in the bed; sometimes I can’t even find Adam. I had a bad cold last week, which caused me to sleep more restless. I am also having a lot of pain down the sides of my legs if I lay on them for to long.
Symptoms: Achy back, headaches (again), round ligament pain (belly is growing and it is uncomfortable)
What I miss: Not getting winded walking up the stairs.
Cravings: Chicken salad, chocolate, and grape juice. I have seen a noticeable change in my appetite over the past few days. I can tell Cameron is growing. Some days I can’t seem to get enough to eat and the next day I am nauseated and don’t want anything. Fun times.
Best Moment this week: Making progress in the nursery. Thanks to the help of Adam’s parents we have a few pieces of furniture put together and in the nursery. I LOVE IT!
What I am looking forward to: First baby shower this weekend. Getting his crib put together and bedding on it.
I have found myself thinking a lot lately about how very blessed we are to have the joy of celebrating this new life. I wouldn't say this pregnancy has been fun or easy, but all of the discomfort and yuckiness is worth it to feel this life growing inside of me. Adam and I pray that we can teach Cameron to love the Lord with all his heart and love others with his words and actions. We can't wait to begin this new journey together as parents.
