Exciting News at the Knight House

Was it love at first site? Maybe so. Adam and I had gone into "town" (Columbus) on Saturday to shop and decided to go to the movies while we were there. That's where we met our new little addition. The Humane Society calls him "Allen" and he is SOOO cute!!! Adam and I met him before the movie and thought about him throughout the whole movie. We went back "Allen" was still waiting for us. We pulled ourselves away as to not make an emotional decision but couldn't get the little fellow off of our minds all weekend. Well........ we called this morning and "Allen" is going to be our new dog this afternoon at 4 pm. We are working on a new name for the cute fella, "Allen" just doesn't do it for us. We are about to head to Wal-mart to get all of our doggie essentials. We are soo excited about becoming new parents! Look for pictures and a name update really soon!

I'm back!

I am back in action! I have access to the computer again! Adam has been needing to take the computer to the office everyday while he was waiting for his new computer to come in. I have really needed to get some work done, but I guess it has given me a little extra break from working and unfortunately blogging. But now I am back!

We are getting into a nice little routine here in Starkville. After only living here a grand total of 3 days, we had to buy a new washing machine. Then I washed 1 load of clothes in it and it died!!! Thankfully the repairman was able to fix a minor problem and I am back to washing. I have never been so glad to wash clothes as I was on Tuesday!

Adam is doing great as Professor Knight. Check out his new profile on the website

Well stay warm!

Happy Birthday!!!

I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to the best wife in the world. Amy turns the big 27 today. She has been wonderful as we have transitioned from Auburn to Miss. State. She helped me decorate my office and has done a wonderful job setting up our house, even though she won't let me put anything sports related in the living room!! Not even Brett Favre. But, I still love you Amy!!

We made it!

After a whirlwind holiday, spent in Hattiesburg and Birmingham we headed back to Auburn to finish packing and get ready for the moving truck to get there. Lets just say we had a LOT of stuff. The moving guys even commented to the number of boxes that we had. But all comments aside, we are finally in Starkville and our new little house is starting to look like a home. Here's a picture Adam's mom took of us in front of our house when they were leaving last week. (We are so thankful for the help of our families to get us settled!)

Dr. Knight (aka my wonderful husband) started his new job today and I know he is going to do a great job here at State. We are looking forward to all that God has in store for us in Starkville!

Last days in AU

Its hard to believe but today is my last day of work here in Auburn. I am going to stay on with the Truman Pierce Institute doing contract work but it will be different not being in the office everyday with my colleagues.

Leaving Auburn is even harder for Adam. He has been here for over 4 1/2 years and has made so many great friends and connections. He has invested a lot of his time, his sweat, his heart and himself in Auburn! In just the six months I have lived here I know why Adam has loved living here so much. We have been blessed in these last few days by our church family, friends and colleagues with warm wishes, free meals and lots of prayers of support and great hugs to carry us to Starkville!

Adam do it....

2 posts in one day... I know.. I know... a little much for me... but I wanted to share of the break we took from packing on Saturday to go to my brothers and visit with Jackson

I know if you read my sister-n-law's blog you realize how incredibly smart this 2 1/2 year old is but everytime Adam and I are around him we are just more and more amazed at how absolutely brilliant this little fella is. We are in love with him. He has such an imagination and an amazing vocabulary. Have we mentioned that Adam taught him where his patella. Find us another two year old who knows that!
Well Jackson LOVES his uncle Adam and this trip wanted Adam to do EVERYTHING for him. Adam do it he would say....

Well Jackson had a bit of a snotty nose so I said, "Jackson let Mimi get your nose" Jackson said, " NO, Adam get my boogie" Sorry babe. You were pretty much gonna have to do everything.

We need more boxes

Well the time has come to pack up our lives here in Auburn and head to Starkville. I can't believe that six months have come and gone. Life happens quick. So this is what our lives look like right now.

Our goal is to have EVERYTHING packed by Friday when we are heading to a wedding in Jackson and then on to Hattiesburg for Christmas. WE will be heading back on the 28th ,after a detour in Birmingham, to meet the movers on the 29th and then Starkvegas here we come.

I realized before we started packing that so few people have actually been to our home in Auburn so I captured a few pictures before hurricane packing hit.

Here are a few pictures of our humble abode pre-packing storm.
